Story Editor

Marginalia Magazine is seeking a meticulous and passionate Editor to join our editorial team. As an Editor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the content and quality of our publication. Your primary responsibilities will include reading and selecting submissions, as well as proofreading and editing articles to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to our editorial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Submissions Management:

• Review and evaluate submissions received from contributors.
• Make editorial decisions on which submissions align with Marginalia Magazine’s editorial vision and standards.
• Provide constructive feedback to authors on rejected submissions.

Editing and Proofreading:

• Edit articles for grammar, punctuation, clarity, and style while maintaining the author’s voice and intent.
• Conduct thorough proofreading to correct errors in spelling, grammar, and formatting.
• Ensure consistency in Marginalia Magazine’s editorial guidelines and tone across all published content.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with writers, contributors, and other members of the editorial team to refine

Part-Time Cartoonist & Editor

Marginalia Magazine is seeking a creative and versatile Cartoon Editor to curate and contribute to our collection of cartoons and humorous writings. As the Cartoon Editor, you will be responsible for reviewing cartoon submissions, selecting content that aligns with our editorial style, and contributing original cartoons and humorous pieces to enrich the magazine’s content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cartoon Submission Review:

  • Evaluate incoming cartoon submissions for artistic quality, originality, and relevance to Marginalia Magazine’s themes and audience.
  • Make editorial decisions on which cartoons to feature in each issue, ensuring diversity in style and content.

• Humorous Writing Review:

  • Review humorous writing submissions, including satire, comic essays, and short humorous pieces.
  • Select and edit submissions that align with Marginalia Magazine’s editorial tone and audience preferences.
