Vanishing Horizons

In America’s heart, a tale unfolds,
Of a land once bold, now weathered and old.
California’s giants, the redwoods grand,
Now ablaze, their fate out of hand.

Among the Rockies, no snowy veil,
Their peaks stand bare, a mournful tale.
Utah’s Great Salt Lake, once vast and wide,
Now dried up, a barren tide.

Florida’s coast, where waters rise,
Submerging lands ‘neath ocean’s guise.
The Colorado, once a lively stream,

Now runs dry, a broken dream.

Louisiana, where the bayous flow,
Washed away by currents’ woe.
In America’s embrace, a silent cry,
As nature’s fury leaves her sigh.

The land of plenty, now in distress,
As climate’s wrath brings forth duress.
America’s identity, once so strong,

Now lost amidst the chaos’s throng.

Yet amidst the sorrow, a glimmer bright,
A call to action, to set things right.
For though the scars may run deep and wide,

Hope blooms anew with every stride.

Let us rise, with courage and grace,
To heal the wounds, to find our place.
For America’s spirit, resilient and true,

Shall endure, no matter what we do.
